Station Security
Due to gas prices increasing, fuel theft and skimming are on the rise. There are over 230 videos on youtube.com on how to steal gas. 4,000 gallons of fuel were stolen from a Burbank gas station last month, in Orange County a man was caught stealing information from credit cards through skimming at an Arco gas station, and in Silicon Valley a gas station was targeted for skimming at the gas pump. Nationwide, gasoline theft cost the industry an estimated $237 million in 2004. The average loss per store was $2,141 in 2004. As gas prices have heavily increased since 2004, so has fuel theft and skimming. Protect your dispensers and your customers.
